"Megan has been a Godsend!! I took the AncestryDNA test to discover more about my heritage. My mom had been adopted so we had no family history. I had no expectations of finding family members. When I received my results I was pretty unsure how to read them, etc. Enter my Angel! Megan explained so much about the results, family trees, etc. After some digging she discovered my 2nd cousin Kevin. We connected and met a year ago. With her help he’s found his biological mother and 2 half sisters!! I thought we were done. Nope! Another email from Megan saying she’d found a match that doesn’t match anyone else. "Upon reviewing the results of a DNA test by a half-nephew, I realized that his mother (my half-sister) had a different father than anyone in our family was aware. We never questioned that the father she grew up with might not be her birth father. Unfortunately, my half-sister passed away several years ago and we could not go any further with DNA than my half-nephew. After spinning my wheels for several months trying to figure out the ancestry, I finally called upon a search angel and was introduced to Megan. Megan contacted me immediately and offered up her help. She worked diligently on the separation of parental lines and singled out the ancestral line that led to the grandfather of my half-nephew. "I was adopted as a newborn. I never new my birth parents or if I had any siblings. A few years ago my wife and daughter convinced me to try a dna service. When I got my results it showed a connection with one first cousin. Even after connecting with them it came to a dead end. I was no further in knowing my personal history than before. I then had the fortune of being introduced to Megan. She was amazing. With the little bit of info I had she was able to figure out who my birth parents are. As a result I have since met my birth mother and my half brothers. It has been an incredible experience. I've been welcomed into my other family with open arms. I owe Megan a huge debt of gratitude. "For years I had an interest with my ancestors and wanted to find out when and where my family originated from. My mother’s side left a trail; however, I could not find any information on my father’s paternal side. After conducting a DNA test my matches had nothing to do with my fathers’ original surname. Turns out my grandfather had no DNA matches to me at all – This is where Megan came into play. The team connected me with lineage dated back to original settlers of Texas before it became a state and was able to identify my biological paternal grandfather. Having a peace officer background it was comforting to know my DNA matched to a TEXAS RANGER in the mid 1800’s. "Fortunately I received an email from researcher Megan McWilliams asking if I would reply with my CM amounts as I had results through Ancestry.com and she explained that I appeared to fit in as a 2nd cousin for a person that she was helping with a family tree. Within days, this “special angel” without monetary compensation had narrowed my unknown and long sought birthfather to a surname for a GF & GM. Soon she offered to share the family tree of that person with his approval. That led to the connection to grandparents and back down to their multiple number of children. DNA would verify who fit as my birthfather and the connection to the person that Megan was assisting! Amazingly, my birthfather had moved about 40 miles within 1 year of the last census before I was born and he had moved to my hometown where he ultimately died and was buried according to the obituary that Megan located.
